Head of Department

The Department of ‘Electronics Engineering’ was established in 1986 with the conversion of the then existing Industrial Engineering Department. The sanctioned intake of this department is 60 since its inception. Over decades we have been consistently striving to make our department a centre for excellence by upgrading the infrastructure as well as promoting staff to carry out research and continuously upgrade themselves. The department has highly motivated, technically excellent and well experienced faculties in research, academia and industry fields. Our faculty is constantly upgrading their educational qualifications with 2 faculties holding a PHD degree and 4 faculties pursuing PHD’s from reputed institutes under Mumbai University. To upgrade their technical skills, our Faculties frequently attend workshops and training sessions conducted by premier institutes like IIT’s. Many faculties have successfully completed NPTEL courses which are offered jointly by IIT’s and HRD ministry under ELITE category. The department has large, well equipped laboratories, high tech computers with latest software and high speed internet facility.

The IEEE student’s chapter has been flourishing under the coordination of one of the most efficient experienced faculty of our department since its inception. This society has carried out innumerable technical workshops, seminars, lectures from Industry experts, industrial visits and tech-fest events that helped students not only increase their technical skills but also helped them learn efficient management and team work.

The Department is, over the years consistently involved in organizing technical seminars and workshops and industrial visits for students of all years so as to update them about latest technologies and industry requirements which gives them an edge over the others during technical aptitude and interviews during placements.

The Department has produced large number of highly accomplished Alumni who have been working at top positions in reputed companies in India and Abroad. Many Alumni have reached pinnacles in research and have been working as faculties in reputed Universities abroad.

The students of our department have consistently won many inter-collegiate and national events (both technical and non-technical) every year. Many of Our students get placed in on-campus recruitments in reputed companies like LTI, TCS, and Cognizant etc. Our department produces excellent results every year with many students achieving a 9 pointer under CBGS scheme.

The department recently received a grant of 9 lakhs seventy thousand rupees from AICTE under MODROB. In short, the department has a rich blend of academic and professional excellence that constantly helps it climbing the ladder of success.

Myself Aditya Vilas Kuware from Batch 2017-21 of Electronics from the prestigious M.H.Saboo Siddik College of Engineering.

My college days were a perfect blend of quality teaching, practical knowledge, excellent support from all the staff and shear fun. I learnt more than just electronics and would like to inculcate the learnings in my future.

I was placed as an Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure Services in LTI from the on campus placement drive. In short I would say that my college life was one complete package.

The journey with MHSSCOE has been really amazing, be it from Electronics branch or others, the staffs, both teaching and nonteaching have been supporting from the first day. They have fuelled us with knowledge as well as ethics and pride of being an engineer. They have supported and trained us for cracking any job as well as constantly encouraged us and provided good platform for entrepreneurship. Even during the pandemic they ensured that there were no loss in our studies and made extra efforts to make online learning interesting as well as filled with knowledge.

My college journey has been full of excitement and inspiration. I got my excitement from my studies through the knowledge given in the lectures and practical’s in the laboratories. I have been inspired by my head of department and the rest of the staff in the department and also my fellow students in class, department and college as a whole. Throughout the course of my studies, I have been able to develop as a student by knowledge acquired and most importantly as a good human being, due to the encouragement, I received from everyone here!

Our college, specially the Electronics Department and it's staff provided us support- both academically and technically, throughout our Final year project. Due to this we were able to demonstrate our project at the regional, zonal as well as at the national level and even won prizes. This has helped me gain enormous knowledge and experience practically, academically and professionally.

Some professors at M. H. SabooSiddik are very knowledgeable and dedicated. They taught us the subjects so well that we only had to revise the concepts once after lecture and we were prepared for the exams.

I was also guided well by the TPO, before applying to the various companies with respect to the skills, technologies and ethics required in the industries. This enabled me to eventually be selected for a prestigious company.

Electronics (BE 2018-19)

It was way back in 2011, when I got admission in Engg, MHSSCOE was the last college to choose from and frankly when we landed up to pay the fees there was no college to be trusted more. Thus began our tryst with engg. We were starting our career and the college life was to be born with us. There was this dilemma of whether we will graduate or not. But all our worries were laid to rest after the initial hiccup. Day by day the foundation got stronger and we too became stronger. All of my batch mates and junior mates of the subsequent years are good friends even today. We had our share of enjoyment and excitement, whether be it in academics, sports or cultural activities. Hats off to all the professors who went all guns blazing to teach inspite of their limited teaching experience. I still remember us rushing to the classrooms and practical labs just at the right time to be there. The professors not only taught us theoretical and practical knowledge but moral values. This sounded unfamiliar as I was not prepared, courtesy the young blood and college life. But soon the unfamiliar picture became clear as the semesters progressed. A sudden sense of maturity and calmness was into me. I never got ATKT in the entire stint of my college experience thanks to my professors for being such a wonderful work of art.

Eventually as they say that all good things come to an end, my college days came to an end and I got my BE degree in the year 2014. This degree does not solely belong to me but the faculty and members who contributed into molding me and my bright future. I got campus placed in an MNC just after completing BE but that has not degraded the memories of MHSSCOE.

On a signing note to all the ex and future sabootians, every beginning has an end and every end has a beginning. All the very best for your future endeavors.

Arbaaz Mandlik

Electronics (Batch 2014-15)

I never thought that I would ever go for engineering as a career. I was interested in choosing merchant navy. However my dad suggested me to do Engineering from Saboo Siddik. Frankly speaking it molded me from a person I was in to the gentleman I am today. Initially I was never much into engineering. But the faculty of electronics guided me to the right path. They made the subjects and especially the practical’s so interesting that slowly I started taking interest in my studies. My progress was slow but steady. My graph went from low to high. After passing I got into Honeywell International, a renowned company as an automation engineer. I give all the credits to the faculty especially our professor Ms Arshi. She was very motivating and counseled me on several occasions when my marks were below expectations. I am very thankful to her and Saboo Siddik as a whole. It changed my life.

Saboo Siddik and especially electronics department has played a vital role in not only shaping career but also given me an environment to grow as an individual. They even made my foundations in electronics so strong that even after a decade break I am confident about succeeding in my masters. All that I am I owe to my professors who made the topics interesting and fun for us. They've taught us to constantly challenge ourselves and strive for perfection. It was only because of Saboo Siddik that I was granted a double scholarship for funding my masters
